The list of gases available to SOCRATES is coded inside a few separate files. We would like to expand this list, to enable and support some science projects. For example, inclusion of additional mineral-bearing species will enable modelling of radiative transfer on 'lava planets'.

It seems that there's room to be quite liberal with expanding the list of gases, since the performance impact should be quite minimal.
