when I build it fails when it tries to retrive needed components.

Don't know what else to say. here is the build.log -

wget 2 dropped the option --passive-ftp in favor of the inverse --no-passive-ftp. You can remove this flag from scripts/functions. It only makes sense for FTP anyway.

Arch, OpenSUSE and Ubuntu still provide wget and wget2 packages; Fedora stopped supporting wget(1) and only ships with wget2.
