EC2 Basic

What is EC2?

  • Renting Virutal Machines (EC2)
  • Storing data on virtual drives (EBS)
  • Distributing load across machines (ELB)
  • Scaling the services using an auto-scaling group (ASG)

Launcing an EC2 Instance running Linux

  1. Go to amazon management console
  2. Choose the region
  3. Go to EC2

EC2 Overview

Ram ( random access memory ) ,

it is known as Hot memory. Application such as dictionary...

Out of memory error , The RAM will extend to the disc called swapping, when swapping performance degrade.

free -m // show the number of free ram avaliable, 
top //Show all process running
shift + f then  m // sort by memory

CPU

cpu will be used for computation.

  • Only run once.... can use it to reset configurations.
