geom_livemap: Map zoom freezes after multiple rapid clicks on +/- buttons

When a user tries to quickly switch between several zoom levels by rapidly clicking the zoom in (+) or zoom out (-) buttons multiple times, the map stops responding to any zoom actions, including button clicks and double-clicking on the map. However, panning the map with the mouse still works.
