Cursor not switching to vertical bar on insert

I've been using WebStorm and RubyMine with the IdeaVim plugin (with a .ideavimrc file) and it has worked flawlessly. Today I installed GoLand and immediately installed the IdeaVim plugin and the cursor is a blinking block, whether I'm in insert or normal mode. I have tried adding a special setting in my .ideavimrc to toggle the cursor, which I confirmed works in vanilla Vim, but still it isn't recognized by GoLand. What is the reason for this? I should mention that I didn't have to do anything special for neither RubyMine nor WebStorm for the cursor to toggle.

Found the solution here https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/VIM-2470 and it looks like there is a pending PR to fix it :)
