What is wrong
There are problems with "continuity" and "overlap" with the proposed title "FHIR IPS (FIPS)" profile.
First of all, some refer to this as a "profile" (correct) while others refer to this as an "implementation guide" (this causes a problem of overlap with the HL7 IPS artefact "HL7 IPS FHIR IG", and has the potential of market confusion.
Secondly, the IPS stakeholder community is aware that IHE has created the "IPS Profile" as part of the "suite of standards" that make up the collaboration amongst 5 SDOs. Moving from IPS to FIPS breaks continuity. While understanding that the FHIR and CDA implementation options of the IPS Profile have been separated (FHIR release now, CDA release still to come), we must ensure that the IPS Profile naming can be seen as a migration of the previous version of the IPS Profile.
Describe the solution you'd like
Propose that the "FHIR IPS (FIPS)" profile be renamed to "IPS (FHIR) v2.0" profile. Once the CDA update is complete, it's name should be "IPS (CDA) v2.0" profile.
