[Discussion] Officializing GPU enabled COS

tldr: Is there a roadmap?

Is the streamlining difficulty that a separate Google-sanctioned COS image would be required for each instance type and accelerator type pairing?

My experience with tip of master was much smoother than the Google-sanctioned cos-extensions install gpu but the former entailed a rather jarring reboot.

Of course, ideally, no separate cos-extension call nor reboot would be necessary, but as earlier indicated, perhaps that is intractable without profilerating COS images.
