Assign mouse 2 to zoom in for multi freelook (spectate), just like a rifle scope without the crosshairs. And have the zoom in speed at half that of a rifle scope.
This would be particularly good for Intharth while recording some game night shots. This option would also be very good for taking preview image of a new map for FF.com thumbnail . Yes you can do this in single player with the sniper rifle but multi free cam has a faster movement speed using the scroll wheel which you can quickly manoeuvre to find that "money shot"
