Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I find the main profile?

The main profile is Git-FED. Use fed-edu for the organization onboarding flow.

Is following the organization the same as joining it?

No. Following starts the onboarding process. You become a member only after accepting the invitation.

Where is the Join button?

It is normally in the GitHub invitation email. You can also use the bell-shaped Notifications icon or the banner on the fed-edu organization page.

What if I used the wrong GitHub account?

Sign out, sign in to the invited account, and open the invitation again.

How long is an invitation valid?

GitHub invitations commonly expire after seven days. Ask @git-fed to resend an expired invitation.

Does joining the organization grant every repository?

No. Repository access is controlled by organization and team permissions.

What should I include in a help request?

Your username, the step where you are stuck, the exact error, and whether you checked spam and Notifications. Never include passwords or tokens.

Who sends the invitation?

The organization administrator, @git-fed, sends invitations.

Where do I report a security issue?

Follow SECURITY.md, not a public issue.

Can I suggest wording changes?

Yes. Open a pull request following CONTRIBUTING.md.

Where are support and funding links?

See SUPPORT.md and .github/FUNDING.yml.
