Clarification on Wii/GameCube method? #2
Comments
@Tiki-pixel The Poke Transporter rom is a GBA Multiboot rom, meaning it gets loaded directly into the device's RAM and doesn't run from the cartridge. This allows you to then remove the cartridge and swap in another cart whilst still running the rom. Using a Wii or GC means you don't need a flash cartridge - you can instead plug your gameboy into the wii/gc (using a GCN<->GBA cable) and load the transporter tool into RAM via cable. Then you can plug in your pokemon game and continue In short:
You should then be able to continue as per the rest of the docs It should be noted that i haven't tried this personally, but this should operate as per other multiboot tools which follow a similar process. Good luck! |
Thank you @jackphilippi for the detailed description of how to run the program, this is a perfect resource for those who are having issues getting it running- I'm working on a tutorial video now, but there's a part of it that's not quite finished yet... hopefully soon though!! |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NhaHwCS9tfE heirs a quick video i made showing the process on a modded wii |
Reading the information on the GitHub page briefly mentions that it is possible to use Poketransporter GB via a Wii using homebrew, but there are no steps, videos or tutorials of doing so. What equipment is needed and what are the steps?
