The target can be a sphere and its recoil could be drawn. The curve can be evaluated by using 3 points: incident position, distance of maximum approach, and arrival position in the screen.

Improve it by using a gaussian distribution as input for the incident particles. This will lead to a final distribution as a circle with particles spread around the center.
