Is it possible to achieve the same AI-predicted output effect as currently popular development IDE software, displaying it after the cursor but not actually inputting it, only filling it in after the user makes a selection?

It should be feasible, but this isn’t something the library provides out of the box. It’s really an implementation question.

If I were building what you are asking, I’d append the predicted text to the CodeArea using its own StyleSpan so it appears visually distinct, typically greyed out, while keeping it separate from the actual user input until they accept it.

So yes, the expected answer is essentially “yes, you can do that.”

What you’re asking for falls under how to use the library, rather than something that should be built into the library itself. For example, if someone wanted syntax highlighting for a specific language, it would be up to them to implement it using the tools RichTextFX provides. Your request is in the same category.

What could be added to the project is an example demonstrating this kind of feature. If you end up creating such an implementation, feel free to contribute it as a new example (if this is often used, that could be useful to others).
