Getting error in make command.

Are you sure libevent-dev is installed?

Normal configuration asks for a newer version of libevent-dev even if the newest version is installed.

Thus, we use the ./configure –with-libevent command to configure but then there are many undefined reference issues during the make

How do we get around the "libevent is too old" configure error, when the newest libevent is installed?
