It may be worth revisiting the annotation palette to improve accessibility for users with colour vision deficiencies #10

I’m not colourblind myself, but I tested the current annotation colour palette using an online colorblindness simulator. The yellow and green are quite close under filters simulating red-green colourblindness. I also noticed that under a tritanopia filter, the blue appears very similar to the green.

I asked a friend who is red-green deficient for her opinion on the palette, she said she could tell the different colours apart but that it would be better if the yellow and green colours were made to be more different by increasing the brightness or contrast of one of them.

I asked a colleague with red-green colour vision deficiency to review the palette. While she was able to distinguish the colours, she mentioned that the yellow and green are quite similar and would benefit from being more distinct.

I should note that this is not a critical issue, since it is possible to toggle labels for each box. However, the labels can create significant visual clutter, and per Kyrie's presentation, it is recommended to keep labels turned off when correcting annotations.
