This means the cache dashboard will never get any servers....

First fix: check for ServerRegistrationService.GetCurrentServerRole() being unknown and disable the dashboard
Longer term: provide an alternative method for servers to register to the umbracoServer table (possibly a different package) or a specific register of servers using the package
