testdata: contract versions question

I noticed that the contracts that are in the repository for testing are quite old.

Questions:

• does the Readme in testdata file contain accurate instructions for getting the latest contracts?
• should we be updating the contracts to let's say... 2.2.0?
  • If not, why not?

Should we be running tests against all of the contracts here:

• https://github.com/CosmWasm/cosmwasm/tree/main/contracts

why or why not?
