Issue with ImportError for pycrreach in compute_reachable_set.py

When I run the compute_reachable_set.py file, I encounter an ImportError: cannot import name 'pycrreach' from 'commonroad_reach' error. Afterward, I tried running pip install -v . in the main directory, but the error persists. I couldn't find the pycreach file in the commonroad_reach folder. Has it been deleted?

The pycrreach shared library will be installed to the CommonRoad-Reach installation in your site-packages directory. It looks like you are not running the installed version, but rather the package as contained in the cloned repo (which does not come with the shared library).

If you want to modify the tool, please check the README_FOR_DEVS on how to do an editable install. This should also solve your issue.

Please provide more information on what you did. Did pip install -v . complete successfully or were there any errors? After successful installation, the shared library should be in site-packages/commonroad_reach.

No, but you can install it as part of our PyPI package as described in the README. If you do not need to modify the tool, this is the preferred way. Note that we currently only provide pre-built wheels for Linux (and not for Windows or MacOS).

I used the command pip install -v . to download, but it showed that the environment variable CRDC_DIR could not be found. So I changed the statement and was able to download.
However, after the download was successful, I also could not find it in site-packages/commonroad_reach. Using pip install commonroad-reach did not work either, and I am unable to run compute_reachable_set.py.

Judging by the output, it looks like the installation completed successfully. I cannot think of a reason why the shared library is not installed in this case. Could you please paste the output of ls /home/xxx/anaconda3/envs/commonroad_reach/lib/python3.8/site-packages/commonroad_reach here (where xxx is replaced by your user of course)?

From which directory are you running compute_reachable_set.py? If you are running the script from the root directory of this repo. The Python interpreter will prefer importing the local version of comonroad_reach (from the directory commonroad_reach in this repo) rather than the installed version from site-packages. You can try renaming this directory to something unrelated (e.g. _commonroad_reach) and check if the script works then. If this is the case, you have the problem that I mentioned in my first post. Then I would recommend doing an editable install as described above.

How should I modify it? The second is that when I use test_collision_checker, it shows that I don't have the collision_checker_cpp parameter. Can you tell me how to resolve this?

I'm happy that the tool now works for you. Renaming the directory is just a temporary solution; please consider doing an editable install, in particular, if you plan to modify the tool.

It looks like you are using an older version of commonroad-reach that is not compatible with the latest release of our route planner (we released a new version that changes its interface ~2 weeks ago). Please do git pull to update to the latest version, where we fixed this issue.

First, modify the path to ensure that the commonroad in site-packages is called when the file is running.
Second, after creating the conda environment, follow the instructions for "Building the Code" to install it.

The collision checker is part of the CommonRoad Drivability Checker and thus also open source.

collision_checker_cpp is a pytest fixture defined in conftest.py.
