Description
Whenever I boot the live ISO on this machine, the system becomes unusable during early startup.
The display signal drops unexpectedly and my TV appears to reboot its HDMI input. After this happens, the system is completely frozen, I simply can't interact with the system or even switch to a different TTY.
The issue is consistently reproducible when booting the live environment with the default graphics configuration.
Expected behavior
The live ISO should boot into the graphical environment without freezing or losing display output.
Actual behavior
- During boot, the display signal is lost
- The TV HDMI input appears to restart
- The system becomes fully frozen
- No TTY access
- No keyboard or mouse response
Workaround
I was previously able to install CachyOS by modifying the boot parameters to disable the open-source NVIDIA driver:
modprobe.blacklist=nouveau nouveau.modeset=0
This allowed the system function continuously after boot.
