Whistle rendering error #88

Description
I am unable to place any of the modded whistles without instantly crashing. Other blocks are safe, but it is specifically the whistle blocks that are giving me this trouble. I don't believe this is the fault of the mod entirely, as I have a friend who I'm playing this modpack with and they don't have this issue. Other strange happenings are at play. For example, I cannot spawn the wither by building it.
However, it's the whistles that are crashing me, so I'm bringing this issue here first in hopes that fixing this will fix my other issues by proxy, or that someone can point to what is causing all the strangeness.
