# Citation metadata for SpliceCraft.
#
# GitHub reads this file to render the "Cite this repository" button on the
# repository page (APA + BibTeX export). Zenodo reads `.zenodo.json` instead
# whenever both files are present, so the two MUST stay in step: release.py
# stamps `version:` + `date-released:` here and `"version"` there on every
# release, and tests/test_citation.py fails the suite if they ever drift from
# `splicecraft.__version__`. See docs/citation.md for the full story.
#
# The DOI is minted by Zenodo when a GitHub Release is published. The
# `identifiers:` entry below is the CONCEPT DOI -- the identifier that always
# resolves to the newest archived version -- so it never needs stamping;
# per-version DOIs live on the Zenodo record itself. See docs/citation.md.

SpliceCraft is a terminal-native plasmid workbench for molecular cloning. It
renders circular and linear plasmid maps as Unicode braille graphics in any
modern terminal, edits sequences base by base, designs PCR and mutagenesis
primers, plans and simulates Golden Braid, MoClo, Gibson, and traditional
restriction assemblies, runs BLASTN/BLASTP/HMMscan in-process via pyhmmer,
optimises codon usage, models agarose gels, ingests Sanger and nanopore
sequencing runs, and keeps a lab notebook -- entirely offline, with no cloud
account and no data leaving the machine unless the user asks. Written in pure
Python on Textual and Biopython, it also exposes a local HTTP API and a
stdlib CLI so external agents and shell scripts can drive every workflow.
