colons and parentheses are removed

Hi,
my name is Christian Kirschner and I'm a PhD student at the TU Darmstadt. For my research I need to extract text from PDFs and I think LAPDF Text is a very good tool to do this. I discovered that using LAPDF Text, all colons and parentheses are removed from the original PDF in the resulting XML files. Therefore I wanted to ask if there is any possibility to change this, because colons and parentheses are very important for me.
