  1. With the Area Augment installed, allow a mode toggle between mine-1 vs mine-9.
(very dangerous to use the tool with area-augment as using shift-leftclick is easy to forget)
  2. Add a veinminer augment, usable both on trees/ore veins, only usable when in mine-1 mode.
  3. Speed upgrades. It's fast, but it could be made faster.
  4. Block replacement augment. Swap target block with blocks in the inventory.

1 and 4 should be doable and i'll look intro those

2 sounds kina OP and if you realy want that function just install veinminer
3 i'll consider but it's already faster and making it TO fast makes it unusable cause you'll be repairing terrain all the time then

I think 4 is also a little bit too OP/not fitting. Swapping blocks is mostly connected to ender things/magic. One block swaps might be doable though.

@iTitus i was thinking about simple thing to replace a single block, replacing multiple blocks is something else, might do that but with 1 by 1 with a high powercost

I think it is interesting if a player has to make 'choices' on how to configure the multitool. This is achievable already with the slot mechanic, so keeping the number of slots limited keeps the tool from becoming too op.

Consider that augments deemed very powerful (or too powerful) could be gated on high requirements or progression items.

Thinking about the veinminer upgrade, it is useful and desirable early game, but loses it's value mid-game and end-game. Quarries and automated wood farms make this feature less 'desirable' as the game progresses. As such, it should be an achievable augment in that timeframe to be useful.

As iTitus says, block replacement is mostly found in magic mods, but there are tech tools that already perform this functionality (endertech's resonant exchanger). This should be an ultimate upgrade with all the progression it entails. Furthermore, if the number of available augments remains limited, choosing to keep a slot open in the current tool is a big commitment. Most likely a user will not realize and may have to craft another multitool, with the right heads and the replacement upgrade.

Same with speed upgrades. Choosing to add speed upgrades, given the risk, is a personal choice that a user faces when filling up augment slots. There are other fast items out there, eg, TiCo has some crazy mats for speeds, Mek has the Atomizer which is possibly as fast as a tool could ever go. I'm sure there are others as well.

I like the idea of an Area augment. 1x1, 2x2, or 3x3 options would be nice.

For replacing blocks, I don't feel it fits the theme of the mod. Placing, sure... think TiC tools... I could see that. But straight swapping? I do love magic mods, and if the feature was added to BCA/KR I would use it... But really it doesn't feel right.

The other suggestions I don't have much opinion on. The tool is plenty fast as it is for my needs, and I've never used veinminer.
