We should be able to execute ie based on GitHub urls instead of the user needing to have the file stored locally.
To accomplish this feature, no need to have a scalable solution. We can have a manually maintained whitelist for what is allowed to be executed.
For example: ie execute http://github.com/mysuperprojcet/docs/helloworld.md
