Given that not everyone might start a data analysis with galaxias_project(), but fit their current project to suit galaxias (especially after first release), would it be better to use different default folder names in galaxias_project() other than data-raw and data?

I anticipate that lots of people already have a data folder, and it probably will contain what we are hoping people save in data-raw. This might get a little confusing/annoying because people will have to change their folder names in their analyses to accommodate galaxias folder names, when really it would be ideal if it was the other way around!

Some alternatives:

  • data and data-processed
  • data and data-dwc
  • data and dwc-archive

Happy to consider other ideas too 😃

This is a good point; in theory data is already 'complete' by the time they go to add it to galaxias, so data-raw is factually incorrect. I chose that because I'd assumed people would start a new repo for galaxies, but there's no need to enforce that. Perhaps data-publish would really emphasise that info in that folder will go online?

We could also make this customizable by adding a chosen repo to galaxias_config(), but we still need a default in that instance.
