Actually, I couldn’t care less about those opinions. At its core, Linux is just a kernel. Distributions are entirely free to choose what to include or exclude, ultimately shaping themselves into independent operating systems. That’s why different distributions should be treated as distinct OSes in their own right. There is no such thing as a "pure", "native", or "halal" Linux. Every real-world Linux system is a distribution. It's like a piano—you need sheet music and a performance before it becomes actual music. Linux is just the high-quality instrument; what we hear and experience is the music—the distribution. AnduinOS was originally built to solve my own problems. It gained some community attention by coincidence. If some people think it's not "pure" enough—or that even Ubuntu isn't "pure" enough—that's perfectly fine. I never claimed to be building anything fundamentalist. Take systemd as an example: many people dislike it, and I’m not a huge fan myself. But I still chose to integrate it, and I don’t think it was a bad decision. It serves a purpose. The Linux community has never had a unified vision. It's more like a marketplace—people doing their own thing, occasionally sharing code. That’s how it’s always been. So there's really no point in debating what’s "orthodox" and what’s "heretical." It’s just a bunch of people using tools in their own ways. |

I wrote about AnduinOS on reddit. Most comments were very negative to absolutly brutal. reddit is in general a quite bad social media, full of awful people. Obviously none of them has ever tested AnduinOS, but they all have a opinion about it, a very negative one. Some even say they "hate" Ubuntu and all its forks. Horrible.
This shows the main problem with Linux. There is no single community, which stands together against the software vendors but many different camps. There is enmity, envy, resentment, disrespect and devaluation of other opinions and software. Many of these guys, none is a woman, think only the old, "clean" Linux distros like Debian, Arch Linux and all the others are the "good" ones. For many this is a religion. That is idiotic but it is reality. They think they belong to a pack with rules and think its needed that they "defend" their pack and the camp, their "clean" Linux. Nonsense, nonsense, nonsense everywhere. None of them is interested in a normal discussion. They are only able to vomit out their dirt. Many of them are ... germans.
I wrote about that topic also in my Marketing post. As long as there is no clean common line within the linux community, no staying together, emphasizing the common things not the differences, animosities instead of interest and respect, there will be no chance that Linux grows against the big operating systems.
