Expanding gray overlay appears when keyboard receives focus on type ahead field

Steps to reproduce

The issue always occurs and in the example app as well, but only on a physical device (only tested on iOS).

Expected results

No overlay should appear

Actual results

When the keyboard receives focus after clicking on the type ahead field, a gray overlay appears in the background and grows larger with each instance of the keyboard receiving focus. This issue is particularly disruptive when frequent interactions with the TextField are required. Please refer to the attached video for more details.
