Pathspec errors on unlock due to non-ASCII characters?

Unlocking a repo I use with Obsidian. Some of the files are imports from a plugin and contain non-ASCII characters in the filenames. I'm wondering if these could be the cause of some files not getting decrypted during an unlock?
