Positioning & differentiation: SE-quality sibling to security meta-harnesses

Context

Research (#70) shows the agent-governance space is well-served for security/safety (MS Agent Governance Toolkit, agentgateway, Invariant, LlamaFirewall) and LLM-output evals (promptfoo, DeepEval, Inspect), but the holistic, open-source, agnostic software-engineering quality gate is genuine white space. The clearest quality analog (Codacy Guardrails) is proprietary/IDE-coupled.

Scope

• Write a positioning/differentiation note: borromeanRings as the quality/process sibling to the security meta-harnesses (not a competitor).
• Capture the comparison table (AGT, Codacy, agentgateway, etc.) and the explicit white space.
• Feed README/VISION and any future public messaging.

Acceptance criteria

• docs/ positioning note with the landscape table and the differentiation thesis.
• README/VISION updated to reflect positioning.
• Cross-checked claims (verify the comparisons per Research findings: meta-harness landscape & Claude first-party support #70 caveat).
